ALLbum : The Chain Gang Of 1974 - Daydream Forever (2014)
I wonder if I delusion into daydream forever after I've hear the whole songs inside this album. Coming up with the latest studio album of "Daydream Forever", The Chain Gang Of 1974 brings some refreshment to their music styles. The album concept still stuck with 80's pop music but it's contemplating a modern electronic element. I think the concept is essential nevertheless their genres remain indie/electronics. A simple lyrics especially at the chorus part that I think you can sing-along together. There are 11 track inside these albums that include two remix song of 'Sleepwalking' by Dawn Golden and 'Miko' by Blood Diamond.
An opening song #1 Ordinary Fools, scintillating the grunges rock of riff guitar and some blurred voice from the vocalist. #2 You shapes the idea between 80's and the used of modern electronic devices. You can feel it just like a remix song. Up next is the song you can recognize it if you played the game of Grand Theft Auto V. #3 Sleepwalking seems rising it's popularity and the name of the band after being listed as a soundtrack in that particular games. #4 Lola Suzanne depicts on the raising of wayward child's. The common social issues that related to the society are composed compassionately. Another soundtrack song of FIFA14 is #5 Miko. It's quite tight of fast beat and shouting voice, 'We throwing rock on the cliff side'.
Meanwhile, #6 Godless Girl mixed up the contemporary sizzling of synth-pop. I wonder if this kind of girl are not believing in God and forever runaway. Obviously, I must aware with the lyric contents. #7 Witch derives a quite simple of drum beats that easily catch your ears. The grunges rock continued in #8 Moksha, the shortest song inside these albums. Did you know that the term of Moksha are related to the Hinduism spirituality contents. 'If you think your're perfection, don't open your #9 Mouth'. Smoothly synthesizer that illuminate the song perfectly. #10 Death Metal Punk are revised the breakbeat and downtempo element. I think the song derives more to the electronic genres rather than death metal or punk genres. #11 Plum shown the creativity of some distortion guitar and the vocalist voice's.
Overall, the album emphasis a vary of elements. As I expected this album are quite good same as the previous album, "Wayward Fire". I give 91 out of 100.
